## About the Role

* Strong commercial software engineering experience with Java and/or Kotlin.
 * Strong experience with Kotlin is highly desirable.
 * Solid understanding and practical experience of TDD.
 * Experience building scalable, production-grade systems.
 * Previous experience working with very large volumes of data.
 * Comfortable working in high-pressure production environments.
 * Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to engineering challenges.
 * Ability to work effectively within a highly experienced engineering team., * Experience within investment banking, financial services or capital markets.
 * Knowledge of Equity Derivatives and/or risk systems.
 * Experience working on large-scale platform replatforming or transformation programmes.
 * Experience with distributed and highly scalable architectures.
 * Strong interest in learning financial markets and the underlying business domain.

You will join a high-performing core team of approximately 8 engineers, made up of JUXT and client-side developers.

## Description

We are looking for an experienced Java/Kotlin Engineer to join the core engineering team delivering a major, multi-year strategic risk system replatforming programme.

You will work at the heart of the programme, building key components within a highly scalable, risk-tolerant architecture designed to handle very large volumes of data in a demanding production environment.

This is an opportunity to work alongside a high-calibre team of senior engineers while gaining valuable exposure to Equity Derivatives and risk technology., * Design and develop core components of the strategic risk platform using Java and Kotlin.

 * Build highly scalable and resilient systems capable of processing very large volumes of data.
 * Apply TDD and strong software engineering principles throughout the development lifecycle.
 * Develop production-quality code within a high-pressure financial markets environment.
 * Contribute to architectural and technical decisions across the replatforming programme.
 * Work closely with experienced engineers to deliver critical components of the platform.
 * Take ownership of technical challenges and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
 * Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous improvement of engineering standards.
 * Support the reliability, scalability and maintainability of the platform.
