* 5+ years' commercial software development experience
 * Strong Java and/or C++ development skills
 * Strong experience working within Linux environments
 * Backend applications, APIs and distributed systems experience
 * Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns and OOP
 * Experience with multithreading and concurrent development
 * Relational and/or NoSQL database experience
 * Docker/containerisation knowledge
 * CI/CD experience - Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD or Azure DevOps
 * Strong debugging, performance analysis and problem-solving skills
 * Experience working within Agile development environments

## Description

We're recruiting an experienced Senior Software Developer to join an innovative engineering team, developing high-performance backend software solutions using Java and C++ within Linux environments.

This is a senior-level position offering the opportunity to take technical ownership, contribute to architecture and technical strategy, and mentor other developers while working on complex, enterprise-scale systems.

What you'll be doing:

 * Designing and developing high-performance backend applications using Java and C++
 * Building APIs, microservices and distributed applications
 * Leading the technical design and implementation of software components and services
 * Developing multithreaded and concurrent applications
 * Troubleshooting and optimising software performance within Linux environments
 * Conducting code reviews and maintaining high engineering standards
 * Supporting architectural decisions and technical roadmaps
 * Containerising applications using Docker
 * Contributing to CI/CD and DevSecOps practices
 * Mentoring junior and mid-level software engineers
 * Working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
