The following are the core skills and experience expected to be successful in this role: * Solid and demonstrable experience in IT infrastructure and cloud engineering or architecture, with a deep working knowledge of compute, storage, networking, and cloud management principles applied in professional delivery contexts. * A track record of designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based platforms and infrastructure, with a focus on AWS. * Hands on experience with AWS, including practical delivery across core services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon EKS, Amazon RDS, Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, Amazon VPC, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Lambda, and AWS App Runner or AWS Fargate. * Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform (including AWS), AWS CloudFormation, or the AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK). * Background in CI/CD pipeline design and automation using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, or similar. * Understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments, including AWS-specific best practices. * Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, the ELK stack, Amazon CloudWatch, and AWS X-Ray). * Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Go). * Ability to troubleshoot and optimise workloads for performance, cost, and reliability on AWS. * AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer - Associate certification, or active progress towards it, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining current and validated technical expertise.
