## About the Role

* Around 3-5 years' PQE, although all applications will be considered on merit
 * Experience advising on data protection and privacy matters
 * Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018
 * Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical skills
 * An interest in technology, innovation and digital businesses
 * Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Professional privacy qualifications such as CIPP/E would be advantageous but are not essential.

## Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Protection lawyer to join a growing Commercial Technology team within a leading UK law firm.

Working with innovative technology businesses, high-growth companies and established commercial organisations, you'll advise on a broad range of UK and international data protection matters. This is a chance to build your expertise in a specialist, fast-evolving area of law while working on high-quality, commercially focused matters.

Responsibilities will include:

 * Advising on UK GDPR, data protection and privacy compliance
 * Drafting and negotiating data processing and data sharing agreements
 * Supporting clients with data breaches and incident response
 * Carrying out DPIAs, compliance audits and risk assessments
 * Advising on international data transfers and cross-border projects
 * Developing privacy policies and governance frameworks
 * Delivering practical training and guidance to clients
 * Building strong client relationships and supporting business development initiatives
