## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree with a major in information systems, computer science, or a related field.
 * One to two years of experience.
 * Strong skills associated with the design, development, modification and deployment of software, including object-oriented programming concepts.
 * Supervisory/management experience not applicable.

Additional Considerations:

 * Hands on experience with Java Development is helpful.
 * Experience implementing web services and APIs is helpful.
 * Familiarity with and working knowledge of enterprise relational database platforms is helpful.
 * Knowledge of Guidewire ClaimCenter and/or Guidewire Cloud is preferred.

## Description

* Demonstrates an ability to communicate with the business representatives.
 * Understands simple business requirements and can relate these to the supporting system requirements, producing simple technical specifications for the work to be done.
 * Creates readable, reliable, and maintainable code and configuration changes for Guidewire ClaimCenter.
 * Maintains and enhances the relational database design underpinning Guidewire ClaimCenter.
 * Performs unit and system testing using test plans and scripts approved by the business.
 * Reviews test results with the business and makes the necessary adjustments to the deliverable.
 * Follows the proper controls and collaborates with IT Operations to migrate code from development server environments to testing and production server environments.
 * Identifies and rectifies errors in coding quickly, showing initiative and a proactive approach.
 * Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation as required.
 * Responds promptly to production issues and shares the responsibility of providing support for the claims administration product by serving on the on-call rotation.
