On the frontend, we have a NextJS application using TypeScript. We don't expect you to be an expert in every one of those areas. If you've enjoyed working in any functional language, we think you'll love Elixir (but if you've never even dabbled, we think you'll love it too). If you've felt productive working with a framework like Rails or Django, you'll get the hang of Phoenix in no time. If you've worked with React, but not TypeScript, we can work with that. If you know your JS, but have never written React, that's fine too. You get the picture - it's not about your familiarity with specific technologies. If you're an expert in one or another domain, but open to learning as you go, we'll start from there. Over time, we'll expect you to wear many hats. You'll be an architect balancing performance and pragmatism. You'll be a developer considering and implementing different designs. You'll be a product manager cutting and simplifying features. You'll be a leader and a mentor. You're the kind of developer who knows not only what the best practices are, but understands why they are, and so knows when to ignore them. You're confident in making your case but open to alternative ideas, and willing to disagree and commit either way. ## Related Videos - [Watch Tests Go Brrrr! : Getting Started with Cypress in ReactJS](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/282-watch-tests-go-brrrr-getting-started-with-cypress-in-reactjs) - [GraphQL + Apollo + Next.js: A Lovely Trio](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/311-graphql-apollo-next-js-a-lovely-trio) - [Bringing digital education to refugee and host communities in remote regions of Africa](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/644-bringing-digital-education-to-refugee-and-host-communities-in-remote-regions-of-africa) - [Build and Deploy a Fullstack App with Open Source Tooling](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/775-build-and-deploy-a-fullstack-app-with-open-source-tooling) - [From Zero to Hero: NextJS 13 and Tailwind CSS for Beginners](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/766-from-zero-to-hero-nextjs-13-and-tailwind-css-for-beginners) - [Meet Your New BFF: Backend to Frontend without the Duct Tape](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/682-meet-your-new-bff-backend-to-frontend-without-the-duct-tape) ## Related Articles - [The 7 Most Popular Backend Frameworks for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/403-the-7-most-popular-backend-frameworks-for-developers) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [What’s the Difference Between Frontend and Backend Development?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/240-what-s-the-difference-between-frontend-and-backend-development) - [The Best 7 Frontend Frameworks for Developers in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/400-the-best-7-frontend-frameworks-for-developers-in-2025) - [7 Most Popular Web Developer Jobs in Europe](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/163-7-most-popular-web-developer-jobs-in-europe) - [Web Development Best Practices: What The Data Tells us](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/84-web-development-best-practices-what-the-data-tells-us)
