## About the Role

external customer requirements and completing concept design through to production in conjunction with the wider technology team. Providing technical support during the installation and operation of end user systems will also form part of this role. About You For the role of Principal Software Engineer, we are looking for a dynamic individual who is looking to work in a varied and fast paced team environment. Ideally you will have experience with using programmable instruments, however this is not essential. You will have previous experience of software development using modern C++, Linux and python and working with tools such as CMake and GIT would be desirable. It would be beneficial if you are familiar with version control principles and systems. A degree in a relevant subject would be an advantage but is not essential with sufficient proven experience. We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our Technology team and work on our cutting-edge scientific products. This is a varied role, that will see you working on new projects, involving the full software lifecycle (concept to test), as well as maintenance of existing products and your contribution will help to ensure that we meet our customers' expectations. The opportunity In the role of Principal Software Engineer, you will be developing and supporting software applications and drivers for a range of QD Oxford's products and instruments. This includes writing clean maintainable code, understanding the operating principles of our systems, identifying delivery risk areas within a project, as well as implementing unit tests.
