Strong Linux knowledge is important, alongside practical Windows Active Directory experience and a good grounding in networking. You do not need to know every technology in the environment. More important is the ability to investigate unfamiliar problems, learn quickly and manage your own workload without needing constant direction. Experience with AWS, VMware or Hyper-V, automation, SIEM tooling, MDM/EDR platforms or security and compliance environments would all be useful additions. ## Description Ncounter is supporting the growth of a well-established technology business looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join its London-based team. This is a broad, genuinely hands-on infrastructure position, suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership of problems rather than working within a narrow technical remit. You will support a predominantly on-premise environment across Linux and Windows, alongside some AWS infrastructure, networking, virtualisation and corporate technology. The role ranges from troubleshooting complex server or build issues through to supporting users, managing access, patching systems and keeping the wider estate running reliably. What you'll be doing: * Managing and troubleshooting Linux and Windows infrastructure * Supporting Active Directory, domain controllers, permissions and user access * Working with Cisco networking, DNS, DHCP and wider connectivity issues * Managing virtualised environments, provisioning, resources and system maintenance * Investigating infrastructure issues affecting software engineering and build environments * Supporting hardware, SaaS platforms, licensing and technology provisioning * Contributing to infrastructure improvements, technical decisions and the longer-term roadmap * Working alongside Information Security on ISO27001, SOC2, audit activity, logging and security improvements, If you're an Infrastructure Engineer looking for broad technical ownership and the opportunity to help improve how an established environment operates, please apply or contact Ncounter to discuss the position. ## Related Videos - [What makes Cybersecurity different for critical infrastructure?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/571-what-makes-cybersecurity-different-for-critical-infrastructure) - [WebAssembly: The Next Frontier of Cloud Computing](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/972-webassembly-the-next-frontier-of-cloud-computing) - [Docker network without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1418-docker-network-without-docker) - [Generating code with Angular schematics](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/129-generating-code-with-angular-schematics) - [Docker exec without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1094-docker-exec-without-docker) - [My journey into DevOps world - How it all started!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/545-my-journey-into-devops-world-how-it-all-started) ## Related Articles - [The Most Popular IT Jobs on the Market](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/376-the-most-popular-it-jobs-on-the-market) - [IT Salaries in UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/288-it-salaries-in-uk) - [Top-Paying Tech Jobs (with Salaries)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/372-top-paying-tech-jobs-with-salaries) - [Where to Find Entry-Level Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/397-where-to-find-entry-level-software-engineering-jobs) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs) - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers)
