In this role, you will design, build, and maintain HIL simulation environments that enable full system integration testing of our Effector platforms - bridging the gap between software development and flight hardware. You will work closely with GNC, software, and systems engineers to ensure our vehicles are thoroughly validated before ever leaving the ground. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building and operating HIL or SIL simulation environments for embedded or autonomous systems. This is a full-time, on-site position in Hawthorne, CA. Responsibilities: * Design and develop HIL test benches for full effector system integration, including flight controllers, ESCs, sensors, and ground control systems * Integrate high-fidelity simulation models (flight dynamics, actuator, and sensor models) that accurately replicate real-world behavior * Integrate hardware components - including autopilot boards, communication links, power systems, and peripherals - into HIL systems * Develop automated test suites and regression frameworks to validate software and firmware changes against HIL environments * Collaborate with software and integration/test engineers to define test plans and acceptance criteria for new features and hardware releases * Debug complex hardware-software interactions by analyzing HIL test data, logs, and telemetry * Maintain and improve test infrastructure, including simulation software, real-time targets, and data acquisition systems * Document test methodologies, procedures, and results clearly for cross-functional team use ## Related Videos - [How to develop an autonomous car end-to-end: Robotic Drive and the mobility revolution](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/22-how-to-develop-an-autonomous-car-end-to-end-robotic-drive-and-the-mobility-revolution) - [Leveraging Large Language Models for Legacy Code Translation: Challenges and Solutions](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1157-leveraging-large-language-models-for-legacy-code-translation-challenges-and-solutions) - [Playing Pong on a shoulder press machine](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100140-playing-pong-on-a-shoulder-press-machine) - [Software stack under and over the hood of the fastest accelerating car in the world](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/221-software-stack-under-and-over-the-hood-of-the-fastest-accelerating-car-in-the-world) - [Building a hypercar from scratch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/607-building-a-hypercar-from-scratch) - [Agent Smith Gets Hardware: Autonomous IoT Hacking From Debug Port to Cloud API](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100258-agent-smith-gets-hardware-autonomous-iot-hacking-from-debug-port-to-cloud-api) ## Related Articles - [How software is steering vehicle technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/515-how-software-is-steering-vehicle-technology) - [Top 6 Hackathons for Developers in 2023](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/263-top-6-hackathons-for-developers-in-2023) - [Should senior developers refuse interview coding challenges?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/29-should-senior-developers-refuse-interview-coding-challenges) - [Is Software Engineering Hard?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/448-is-software-engineering-hard) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [7 Hackathons For Beginners](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/383-7-hackathons-for-beginners)
