You will be instrumental in scaling our core services and ensuring our software runs reliably in demanding customer infrastructure. What you'll do You will own the backend services and integration pipelines that power our production scheduling platform across customer deployments. * Build, maintain, and scale production-ready backend features and APIs in Rust. * Implement reliable customer integrations and complex data mapping workflows. * Collaborate closely with backend and ML teams to run workloads smoothly in production. * Debug, test, and support robust deployments on our Kubernetes infrastructure. * Turn bespoke customer and product requirements into clean, maintainable architecture. What success looks like Month 1: Get fully up to speed with our backend codebase and integrate into our daily standups and planning workflows. Month 2-3: Take independent ownership of production backend features and collaborate directly on active customer integration pipelines. By end of Q1: Operate as a core contributor reliably shipping backend integrations and production features across customer environments. Who this is a fit for * Practical experience building applications with Rust across professional, academic, or personal projects., Flat hierarchy with low formal process and high autonomy. Team rituals center around a short daily standup and a weekly engineering planning sync, with spontaneous ad-hoc collaboration whenever questions arise. Thrives on self-direction, rapid learning on the fly, and tackling novel production challenges without rigid bureaucracy. The offer * High technical autonomy in a flat hierarchy with minimal formal bureaucracy. * Direct impact shipping code to real-world industrial production environments. * Collaborative culture with light rituals like daily standups and weekly engineering syncs. * Broad technical scope spanning backend architecture, ML workflows, and deployment infrastructure. This probably isn't for you if * You rely on rigid corporate structures, heavy top-down processes, and micromanaged roadmaps. * You prefer purely theoretical tasks over hands-on debugging, testing, and production deployments. * You are uncomfortable operating in an evolving environment where responsibilities grow dynamically. ## Related Videos - [Get ready to Rustle](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/698-get-ready-to-rustle) - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [Understanding Kubernetes in a visual way](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100085-understanding-kubernetes-in-a-visual-way) - [Web-based Information Visualization](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/84-web-based-information-visualization) - [Meet Your New BFF: Backend to Frontend without the Duct Tape](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/682-meet-your-new-bff-backend-to-frontend-without-the-duct-tape) - [Instant KAI Sandboxes with vCluster: Multi-Tenant, Multi-Scheduler GPU Sharing](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100333-instant-kai-sandboxes-with-vcluster-multi-tenant-multi-scheduler-gpu-sharing) ## Related Articles - [Backend Developer Salary in Germany [2023]](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/196-backend-developer-salary-in-germany-2023) - [Building AI Solutions with Rust and Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/494-building-ai-solutions-with-rust-and-docker) - [The 12 Best Jobs for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/401-the-12-best-jobs-for-software-engineers) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs) - [The Biggest German Tech Companies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/424-the-biggest-german-tech-companies) - [The Most Popular IT Jobs on the Market](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/376-the-most-popular-it-jobs-on-the-market)
