At WAC, you'll own the embedded appliance platform behind our next-generation commercial smart lighting products. You'll architect and build the Linux-based edge infrastructure that connects buildings, devices, cloud services, and customers around the globe. This isn't a maintenance role. It's a chance to create the foundation. You'll design and ship secure embedded Linux platforms, build zero-touch provisioning, develop resilient OTA update systems, and help shape the architecture that bridges on-premises deployments with cloud services at scale. From customer sites with full internet connectivity to air-gapped enterprise environments, you'll solve challenges that require deep technical expertise and practical engineering judgment. What You'll Do * Own the embedded appliance platform from concept to deployment. * Build secure, reliable Linux-based edge systems. * Design zero-touch provisioning and fleet management infrastructure. * Create robust OTA update pipelines that customers can trust. * Partner with firmware, cloud, mobile, and product teams to deliver seamless customer experiences. * Drive technical decisions that impact products deployed worldwide. * Solve difficult problems across hardware, software, networking, security, and cloud infrastructure. ## Related Videos - [Docker network without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1418-docker-network-without-docker) - [Remote Driving on Plant Grounds with State-of-the-Art Cloud Technologies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/251-remote-driving-on-plant-grounds-with-state-of-the-art-cloud-technologies) - [Docker Compose: Rediscovered](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1978-docker-compose-rediscovered) - [Docker exec without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1094-docker-exec-without-docker) - [Docker build without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100114-docker-build-without-docker) - [From Factory Floor to Kubernetes Core: Building an Edge Platform One Step at a Time](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1415-from-factory-floor-to-kubernetes-core-building-an-edge-platform-one-step-at-a-time) ## Related Articles - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Dev Digest 138 - Are you secure about this?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/486-dev-digest-138-are-you-secure-about-this) - [Dev Digest 134 - Where pixels sing?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/477-dev-digest-134-where-pixels-sing) - [What Makes WeAreDevelopers World Congress Different From Every Other Tech Event?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/701-what-makes-wearedevelopers-world-congress-different-from-every-other-tech-event)
