## About the Role

## Description

The DHS CBP Program Management Office Directorate (PMOD) serves as the Independent Test Authority (ITA) for CBP acquisition programs and requires comprehensive systems engineering and test and evaluation (T&E) support. SimIS seeks a Systems Engineer to conduct comprehensive systems engineering trade studies and technical analysis to support CBP's mission of achieving 100% border coverage through integrated surveillance technologies. This role requires expertise in border security technologies including fixed towers, mobile sensors, UAS, tunnel detection systems, and ground-based sensors. The Systems Engineer develops system architectures, performs integration analysis, and creates technical documentation to support optimal technology deployment strategies across diverse border environments., * Conduct comprehensive systems engineering trade studies to determine optimal technology mix for 100% border coverage

 * Perform view shed analysis using advanced modeling and simulation to identify coverage gaps and optimize sensor placement
 * Develop system architecture documents and reference architectures integrating tower sensors, mobile systems, tunnel detection, and ground-based sensors
 * Create System Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to ensure interoperability between disparate systems
 * Perform independent verification and validation of vendor claims and system capabilities
 * Document specific infrastructure requirements including land, power, communications links, and interfaces to Border Patrol operating picture
 * Develop technology roadmaps aligned with CBP strategic objectives
 * Perform comparative analysis of sensor technologies including radar systems, electro-optical/infrared cameras, and ground detection systems
 * Support development of Planned Product Improvement (PPI) framework for major system components
 * Create consolidated technical data repository documenting system capabilities, limitations, and test results
