## About the Role

* Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
 * 5-12 years of roadway or transportation design experience
 * Strong hands-on experience with:
 + OpenRoad Designer/MicroStation and/or Autodesk Civil 3D
 * Experience producing roadway construction plan for:
 + DOT, municipal, or public infrastructure projects
 * Solid understanding of roadway geometry, grading, and drainage fundamentals
 * Comfortable working independently on complex design tasks
 * Strong attention to detail and communication skills
 * Ability to safely visit project and construction sites when necessary

## Description

DLZ Corporation has Design Engineer - Roadway opportunity in Columbus, OH., * Perform hands -on roadway and transportation design for ODOT and LPA projects

 * Develop construction plan sets including:
 + Horizontal & vertical alignments
 + Profiles and cross sections
 + Grading, drainage, and maintenance of traffic (MOT)
 * Apply ODOT design manuals, standards, and specifications
 * Produce CAD design using OpenRoads Designer/MicroStation and/or Civil3D
 * Review and check drawings for accuracy and compliance with standards
 * Assist with quantities, cost estimates, and design documentation
 * Support constructability reviews and update designs as needed
 * Mentor junior designers and project managers to support project delivery
 * Coordinate with engineers and project managers to support project delivery
 * Occasionally support field visits and incorporate field data into designs
