## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
 * 3 years of design experience. Design experience with Electro-mechanical devices is preferred.
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 * Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
 * Capability to manage various tasks through development, prototype, and production phases with attention to detail.
 * Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills

## Description

In this role you will report to the Site Engineering Manager, and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, VA, As a Design Engineer, you will:

 * Review customer specifications and develop design approaches to meet requirements.
 * Support the business development group with technical proposals.
 * Optimize designs using Speed or Ansys FEA tools; collaborate with designers to create solid models and detailed prints.
 * Conduct internal and external design reviews.
 * Support the model shop during prototype building and qualification testing.
 * Prepare drawing packages for final production release.
 * Address technical questions from customers.
 * Foster innovation in both design and manufacturing techniques.
