Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Senior Level Designer - **Company:** Virtuos AI LLC - **Location:** United States (Remote available) - **Experience:** Expert - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Adobe Analytics, 3d Models, Autodesk 3DS Max (3D Graphics Software), Artificial Intelligence, C Sharp (Programming Language), Software Debugging, Lua (Scripting Language), Maya, Scripting, Data Analytics, User Generated Content, Unreal Engine - **Published:** September 12, 2026 - **Apply:** https://arc.dev/remote-jobs/j/redirect/pjgcbuqn1f ## About the Role * At least 5 years in a level design role. * Shipped at least one full-cycle title, from pre-production to launch, on console, PC, or a major mobile title in a level design role. * Proven ability to design within mobile constraints, shown through a shipped mobile title, a shipped mobile mode, or a strong portfolio project. * Experience designing competitive multiplayer maps or arenas. * Comfortable working in a data-driven, config-based level creation pipeline. * Proficient in Unity. * Proficient in scripting with Unity C#. * Strong grasp of level design fundamentals: spatial flow, pacing, readability, and balance. * Able to build quick prototypes. * Able to take feedback, act on it, and give clear feedback to others. * Able to prioritize tasks and deliver quality work on time. * Mandarin Chinese, required for daily work with our client. * English at an adequate level, for meetings, documentation, and collaboration with English-speaking colleagues and clients. Native English fluency is not required. Strongly preferred * Console or PC experience on a shipped AA or AAA title. * Experience with designing mini games or user-generated content, professional or personal. * Experience shipping both single-player and multiplayer levels. Bonus * Experience with other engines and scripting tools, such as Unreal Engine, Blueprints, Lua, or Godot. * Experience with 3D modelling tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender. * Experience leading a team of designers. * Experience working across multiple studios in a co-development setting. * Experience working in an English-speaking environment. * Willing to travel and work at our other studios in China when a project needs it. ## Description * Partner with game designers to refine each map's mechanic, then design a layout where the mechanic drives player decisions. * Own each map from paper design through block-out, scripting, iteration, debugging, optimization, and delivery. * Balance multiplayer space: sightlines, cover, chokepoints, escape routes, and objective placement. * Set the pacing of short play sessions so every match build tension and ends with a clear result. * Design NPC movement and patrol paths so AI-driven characters move in a believable way. * Script and integrate your own maps in Unity using Unity C#. * Design for mobile readability so the gameplay is enjoyable on a small screen. * Iterate on maps using playtest feedback and telemetry data. * Write and maintain clear level design documentation. * Work with QA to find, reproduce, and fix reported issues. * Work with the art team so levels reach a high visual bar without losing their gameplay intent. * Share knowledge and mentor other designers. ## Related Videos - [Apple Vision Pro: Proven Development Methods Meet the Latest Technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1190-apple-vision-pro-proven-development-methods-meet-the-latest-technology) - [JavaScript?
