In this role, you will take a recorded log from storage, to a replayable test case, to a scored result, and own the execution, determinism, and reporting in between. You will do this across on-road and off-highway programs, and you will own the tooling other engineers use to run scenario suites. What you'll do * Log replay. Build the pipeline that converts recorded logs into replayable test cases, including ingest, indexing, retrieval, and replay of a specific run on demand. Implement open-loop scoring against ground truth and closed-loop replay where the simulated machine is allowed to diverge. * Scenario execution. Build the execution layer that runs a scenario identically every time, including clock control, seed and configuration management, and results traceable to a software version. * Continuous integration. Integrate simulation into CI. Maintain the commit, nightly, and regression workflows, and keep failures attributable. * Metrics and reporting. Implement the pass criteria and metrics a release is judged against, and the reporting that reduces a batch of failing runs to an actionable list. * Scale and cost. Run large batches efficiently, track the cost of a simulation run, and reduce it as volume grows. * Tooling. Build the interfaces, visualizations, and command-line tools that make the platform usable by engineers who did not build it. * Cross-functional work. Work with autonomy and robotics on failure definitions, with bench and hardware-in-the-loop engineering on the path from simulation to bench to vehicle. ## Related Videos - [How to develop an autonomous car end-to-end: Robotic Drive and the mobility revolution](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/22-how-to-develop-an-autonomous-car-end-to-end-robotic-drive-and-the-mobility-revolution) - [Code to Road in < 12 hours](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1082-code-to-road-in-12-hours) - [Optimizing Discovery: PostgreSQL's Role in Transforming GetYourGuide's Search](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1647-optimizing-discovery-postgresql-s-role-in-transforming-getyourguide-s-search) - [Getting to Know Your Legacy (System) with AI-Driven Software Archeology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1437-getting-to-know-your-legacy-system-with-ai-driven-software-archeology) - [Remote Driving on Plant Grounds with State-of-the-Art Cloud Technologies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/251-remote-driving-on-plant-grounds-with-state-of-the-art-cloud-technologies) - [Dynamic Entities in .NET: Building Low-Code Systems on Top of Entity Framework Core](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100218-dynamic-entities-in-net-building-low-code-systems-on-top-of-entity-framework-core) ## Related Articles - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [How software is steering vehicle technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/515-how-software-is-steering-vehicle-technology) - [The 8 Best Code Testing Tools](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/402-the-8-best-code-testing-tools) - [Is Software Engineering Hard?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/448-is-software-engineering-hard) - [How to Become an AI Engineer](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/331-how-to-become-an-ai-engineer) - [How we Build The Software of Tomorrow](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/120-how-we-build-the-software-of-tomorrow)
