## About the Role

* 5+ years of experience with object-oriented programming using C++.
 * Programming experience in Linux environments.
 * Experience with cloud technologies: AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda), GCP (GKE, Cloud functions).
 * Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, or Python.
 * Ability to work with JSON and similar structured document formats.
 * Experience with network programming and multi-threading.
 * Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
 * Familiarity with open source projects and Agile methodologies.
 * Experience with CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and integration testing.

Bonus Qualifications

 * Experience working with genetic and biological data.
 * Active involvement in open source communities (GitHub, etc.).
 * Multi-platform development experience (POSIX, WinAPI).
 * Containerization experience (Docker).
 * Familiarity with parsing tools (flex/bison) and developing domain-specific languages.

## Description

Blu Omega is seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to support our client's biomedical big data initiatives. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and advancing solutions that facilitate biological data analysis and storage within a federal research environment., Support the development of tools and infrastructure for managing large-scale biomedical sequencing data., * Develop, implement, test, and maintain the VDB Library, the SRA Toolkit, and related projects.

 * Contribute to the development of cloud-ready tools and pipelines to support scalable and reliable data access and processing.
 * Learn new technologies, manage internal systems, and share knowledge with team members.
 * Lead other developers in project tasks.
