## About the Role

Senior Software Engineer Role (Kotlin)You'll join a close-knit engineering function of around 9 engineers, giving you plenty of ownership, visibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on technical decisions and how the platform evolves.One of the key projects will involve modernising the existing technology platform and migrating from PHP to Kotlin.You'll work closely with engineering and product while remaining firmly hands-on with development and delivery.What We're Looking For- Strong commercial experience with Java or Kotlin- Strong backend software engineering experience- Currently hands-on with coding and comfortable working in a highly technical role- Experience with cloud technologies, ideally AWS- Experience building and maintaining modern, scalable backend applications- Strong communication and collaboration skills- Comfortable working within a smaller engineering team with significant ownershipParticularly Valuable ExperienceExperience within FinTech, banking,
payments, lending, insurance or wider financial services would be a strong advantage.We're also particularly interested in engineers who have worked on:- Legacy modernisation or technology migration projects- Migration into Java/Kotlin environments- AWS and cloud-native architectures- Smaller product engineering teams with end-to-end ownership- Practical use of AI within software developmentLocation & EmploymentThis is a permanent position and candidates must be based in, or able to be permanently employed in:UK | Spain | Portugal | Italy | PolandPlease note that B2B and contract arrangements are not available for this position you will be employed through EOR (Employer of Record)If you're a Senior Software Engineer who wants to remain hands-on while playing a key role in a major technology modernisation, we'd love to hear from you.
