For this programme, you must be able to achieve and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance. For further details, visit GOV.UK and search 'United Kingdom Security Vetting: clearance levels'. Where will you be based? Places on our Data Analytics programme for September 2027 are available in Rosyth, Scotland. Our 320-acre Rosyth facility is home to one of the largest and most modern waterside advanced manufacturing and repair facilities in the UK. At Rosyth, we specialise in the design, build and through-life support of complex naval and commercial marine assets - developing innovative solutions for our customers' projects with our integrated approach. We offer agile working, giving you some flexibility, but you can expect to spend several days a week on-site as part of your role and development. By your start date, you must be able to reliably commute to the site. This will normally require living within a reasonable commuting distance of Rosyth or relocating before you join us. ## Description As a Data Analytics graduate, you won't just be working with data - you'll be influencing how we operate and support critical national infrastructure. Your work will help optimise operations, reduce risk, and enhance the performance of vital assets across defence, nuclear, and emergency services. You'll explore the full data lifecycle - from sourcing and cleaning datasets to uncovering patterns and presenting insights through clear, compelling visuals. This involves building reports in Power BI, conducting statistical analysis, or creating dashboards that highlight what's working and where we can improve. You'll gain in-depth knowledge of our enterprise systems and contribute to projects that improve how we capture, manage, and use data. Some placements may also involve developing customer-facing applications and data solutions in Palantir Foundry to support smarter, faster decision-making. With support from mentors and collaboration with experienced colleagues, you'll quickly build confidence - learning to communicate insights, challenge assumptions, and contribute fresh ideas. You'll help shape strategy, drive innovation, and improve the way teams work. How is the programme structured? This two-year programme is built around a series of rotational placements, each lasting between three and six months. These rotations are designed to give you practical experience across a variety of teams, tools, and challenges - helping you discover where your strengths and interests lie. By the end of the programme, you'll have a strong foundation in data analytics, and a clear sense of how your work can drive impact across a complex, data-driven organisation. How do we develop and support you? From day one, you'll receive structured support, personalised training, and dedicated mentorship to help you excel throughout your programme and beyond. You'll join our Graduate Development Programme, featuring expert-led masterclasses on communication, personal branding, resilience, and wellbeing. Alongside this, you'll have access to online learning resources such as DataCamp and O'Reilly, plus a dedicated mentor to guide your development and support you in working towards professional chartership with bodies like the British Computer Society or the Institute of Mathematics for Data Science, with funding and time provided to help you meet the requirements. You'll develop key skills in data visualisation, cloud platforms, agile ways of working, and ethical AI. Depending on your placement, you may also explore areas like Business Analysis and Project Management, as well as using Python to build analytical models that analyse enterprise data and draw meaningful conclusions. There may also be opportunities to boost your learning with courses like Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, SQL, Python, or Palantir Foundry. ## Related Videos - [From Messy Queries to Scalable Systems - How Data Engineering actually works](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100203-from-messy-queries-to-scalable-systems-how-data-engineering-actually-works) - [Data Science on Software Data](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/162-data-science-on-software-data) - [Beyond Dashboards: Fixing Text-to-SQL with Semantic RAG](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2036-beyond-dashboards-fixing-text-to-sql-with-semantic-rag) - [Fault Tolerance and Consistency at Scale: Harnessing the Power of Distributed SQL Databases](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1146-fault-tolerance-and-consistency-at-scale-harnessing-the-power-of-distributed-sql-databases) - [Modern Data Architectures need Software Engineering](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1030-modern-data-architectures-need-software-engineering) - [Data Analytics with Microsoft Fabric: End-to-End Use Case with Data Agents](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1547-data-analytics-with-microsoft-fabric-end-to-end-use-case-with-data-agents) ## Related Articles - [Data Analyst Salary in the UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/278-data-analyst-salary-in-the-uk) - [Data Engineer Salary UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/253-data-engineer-salary-uk) - [Guide for Expats Living in the UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/355-guide-for-expats-living-in-the-uk) - [UK Business Culture and Etiquette](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/326-uk-business-culture-and-etiquette) - [Best Coding Boot Camps in Germany](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/237-best-coding-boot-camps-in-germany) - [Software Engineer Salary in The UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/231-software-engineer-salary-in-the-uk)
