## About the Role

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be, Equivalent to one (1) year of experience analyzing, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting computer hardware, software and network devices, which includes working with various operating structures and database structures. (Additional qualifying experience can be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis).

Training:
Equivalent to an Associate's Degree or completion of an approved certificate program in computer science, information systems technology, management information systems or a related field.

License or Certificate:
Requires possession of a valid California Driver's License.
IT Specialist II :

Experience:
Equivalent to the experience of an IT Specialist I plus two (2) years of experience in the design, oversight, coordination and operation of a department's automation system; which includes professional experience in network/server administration or application development. (Additional qualifying experience can be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis).

Training:
Equivalent to an Associate's Degree or completion of an approved certificate program in computer science, information systems technology, management information systems or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.

License or Certificate:
Requires possession of a valid California Driver's License., Requires the ability to maintain mental capacity which allows the capability of exercising sound judgment and rational thinking under varied circumstances; ability to see; ability to hear and communicate orally; exert a small amount of physical effort in sedentary to light work involving moving from one area of the office to another; requires sufficient hand/eye coordination to perform semi-skilled repetitive movements, such as data entry or use of other office equipment or supplies; occasionally requires sufficient strength and coordination for lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying the weight of computer equipment; dexterity to climb or crawl necessary to install cable in areas of close tolerance; ability to operate a motor vehicle; involves extensive VDT exposure; may require the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

## Description

As an Information Technology Specialist for Colusa County, you'll help keep the technology our County relies on running smoothly, securely, and efficiently. You'll provide technical support to County departments, troubleshoot system issues, and install, maintain, and update hardware, software, networks, and other technology systems.
