This means we aren't just maintaining old code-we are building, testing, and refining new capabilities as we maintain our existing production. We are looking for engineers who are ready to take ownership of features and help translate complex architecture into software running on real-world target hardware. We need people who can help us go from the prototype phase to creating dependable software for our products as they go into production to protect the war-fighter. The Challenge You will be an individual contributor focused on the design and implementation of embedded and production support software. You will work at the cutting edge of hardware-software integration, utilizing System-on-Chip (SoC), FPGA, and System-on-a-Module (SOM) architectures leveraging ARM processors. This role is perfect for an engineer who loves seeing their code interact with physical hardware in high-precision environments. Your Impact * Ownership: Take responsibility for the design and implementation of specific software modules from requirement to deployment. * Production Support: Help maintain and refine existing production code, ensuring the continued reliability of current APKWS capabilities. * Collaboration: Work side-by-side with senior engineers and cross-functional hardware engineers to solve complex integration challenges. * Execution: Drive the development of embedded systems, ensuring that software is optimized for performance and reliability on target hardware. * Quality: Leverage CI/CD pipelines and static analysis tools to ensure your code meets rigorous defense standards. * Growth: Transition from executing tasks to helping shape the technical direction of the project as you grow. ## Related Videos - [Code to Road in < 12 hours](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1082-code-to-road-in-12-hours) - [Single Server, Global Reach: Running a Worldwide Marketplace on Bare Metal in a Cloud-Dominated World](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1206-single-server-global-reach-running-a-worldwide-marketplace-on-bare-metal-in-a-cloud-dominated-world) - [Designing the Future of Human<>Agent Collaboration](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1447-designing-the-future-of-human-agent-collaboration) - [Migrating half a million users to a new payment service provider](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/730-migrating-half-a-million-users-to-a-new-payment-service-provider) - [Building a hypercar from scratch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/607-building-a-hypercar-from-scratch) - [Dirty Tests And How To Clean Them](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/515-dirty-tests-and-how-to-clean-them) ## Related Articles - [What Jobs Can You Get with a Software Engineering Degree?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/398-what-jobs-can-you-get-with-a-software-engineering-degree) - [The 12 Best Jobs for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/401-the-12-best-jobs-for-software-engineers) - [The Ultimate Software Engineer Career Path Guide for 2023](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/146-the-ultimate-software-engineer-career-path-guide-for-2023) - [Is Software Engineering Hard?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/448-is-software-engineering-hard) - [Software Engineer Career: Things You Should Know](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/143-software-engineer-career-things-you-should-know) - [Where to Find Entry-Level Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/397-where-to-find-entry-level-software-engineering-jobs)
