This role is ideal for an engineer who has moved beyond foundational networking and is ready to take ownership of medium-to-large network projects while continuing to grow toward an intermediate or advanced-level role. You'll work closely with IT Operations, Systems Engineering, Security, and Project Management teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable network solutions across all corporate locations, with a clear path toward Senior Network Engineer responsibilities as you grow in the role. What You'll Be Working On: * Design, implement, and support network infrastructure across offices, warehouses, and datacenters: full site-build lifecycle (topology, IP/VLAN/subnet design, wireless planning, redundancy/failover), BOMs, expansions, migrations, and refreshes. * Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot the full network stack (firewalls, switches, wireless), serving as an escalation point for complex issues, driving root cause analysis, and participating in on-call/after-hours support. * Ensure configurations align with security policies, support audits and vulnerability remediation, and assist with security system integrations (cameras, access control). * Configure SaaS integrations (SSO, SCIM, OIDC, OAuth - primarily Okta) and build automations/workflows using low-code/API tools like Workato and Postman, in partnership with IT and Security. * Bring an automation-first mindset: proactively identifying ways to reduce manual work and staying current on AI-assisted tools for IT infrastructure and ops. * Maintain network documentation (diagrams, IP schemas, VLAN assignments, rack elevations, port maps) and contribute to standardizing designs and deployment patterns. * Collaborate with Senior Network Architect and Engineers on complex initiatives, liaise with vendors/ISPs/carriers on circuit turn-ups, and mentor Network Analysts. * Travel up to 20% may be required to support site deployments. ## Related Videos - [Improving quality with Agentic AI with Rovo Dev and Xray](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2005-improving-quality-with-agentic-ai-with-rovo-dev-and-xray) - [Keeping applications secure by evolving OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100152-keeping-applications-secure-by-evolving-oauth-2-0-and-openid-connect) - [How Cisco embraced a DevOps culture within its network engineering team](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/99-how-cisco-embraced-a-devops-culture-within-its-network-engineering-team) - [Small, Secure, Interconnected: The next Internet Protocol](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100062-small-secure-interconnected-the-next-internet-protocol) - [Collaboration Quantified: Lessons from Open Source Developer Networks](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1422-collaboration-quantified-lessons-from-open-source-developer-networks) - [Delay the AI Overlords: How OAuth and OpenFGA Can Keep Your AI Agents from Going Rogue](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1637-delay-the-ai-overlords-how-oauth-and-openfga-can-keep-your-ai-agents-from-going-rogue) ## Related Articles - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [Best Countries for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/267-best-countries-for-software-engineers)
