They are the team responsible for how their stores look, feel, and work across every region and format. Think facades, layouts, furniture, fixtures, finishes, and the experiential moments in between. It's a in-house team that moves quickly and expects people to make decisions, so if you like ambiguity, want autonomy, and have opinions you're happy to share, you'll fit right in. What makes this one nicely balanced is the split between the creative and the practical. You'll be generating concepts and pushing ideas for flagships and high-profile projects, but you'll also be seeing them through into detailed packages and regional rollout, so nothing stays on the mood board for long. Day to Day, You'll Be... * Leading flagship and high-complexity store design projects, from concept creation and spatial strategy through to experiential detail * Developing and presenting strong creative ideas through sketches, renders, and 3D models, to senior leadership as well as the wider team * Producing full detailed design packs: facades, layouts, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and site-specific construction details that are accurate, buildable, and on brand * Creating mood boards, material palettes, and technical documentation for internal teams and external partners * Managing external studios and specialist consultants, reviewing their detail design packs, construction drawings, and technical deliverables * Sourcing and integrating new materials and techniques that push things creatively while still being practical and long-lasting * Keeping an eye on design trends, customer behaviour, and what competitors are doing, and turning that into commercially relevant ideas * Mentoring junior designers and contributing to a high-performing, feedback-driven studio culture * Juggling multiple projects at once and making clear, confident calls to keep them moving ## Related Videos - [IKEA Story: Transforming an Iconic Retail Brand](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/444-ikea-story-transforming-an-iconic-retail-brand) - [TresJS a new declarative ThreeJS as Vue components](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/543-tresjs-a-new-declarative-threejs-as-vue-components) - [Learn Enough Design to Be Dangerous](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/577-learn-enough-design-to-be-dangerous) - [Cross platform Augmented Reality development with React Native](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/160-cross-platform-augmented-reality-development-with-react-native) - [Design as an algorithm, not as a feature](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/471-design-as-an-algorithm-not-as-a-feature) - [Debugging Machine Learning Code](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/71-debugging-machine-learning-code) ## Related Articles - [Top 5 Web Design Trends for 2023](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/155-top-5-web-design-trends-for-2023) - [Web Developer Portfolio Inspiration and Examples - March 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/561-web-developer-portfolio-inspiration-and-examples-march-2025) - [UK Business Culture and Etiquette](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/326-uk-business-culture-and-etiquette) - [How Developers Can Focus on Maintaining Satisfaction With Accessibility](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/109-how-developers-can-focus-on-maintaining-satisfaction-with-accessibility) - [Top 23 Web Developer Portfolio Examples to Inspire Your Own](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/161-top-23-web-developer-portfolio-examples-to-inspire-your-own) - [Declarative Design and a fresh take on collaboration with developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/595-declarative-design-and-a-fresh-take-on-collaboration-with-developers)
