## About the Role

* 10+ years of experience with ServiceNow platform development, including deep expertise in ITSM, ITAM, and CMDB
 * Additional experience with ITOM, SecOps, and GRC is a plus
 * Strong understanding of CMDB, Asset Management, Discovery, Portal, Incident, Problem, and Change Request Management processes
 * Skilled at gathering requirements and designing solutions using built-in ServiceNow functionality
 * Strong knowledge of ServiceNow architecture and design, including workflows, custom apps, and integrations
 * Proven experience leading full project lifecycles on large-scale projects while providing process governance
 * Highly skilled with scripting languages in ServiceNow development and Service Portal
 * Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems via APIs, Integration Hub, and Spokes
 * Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies
 * Demonstrated ability to mentor technical teams and foster a high-performance culture
 * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present technical concepts to business stakeholders
 * Experience in Perl and Python programming in a Linux environment is a plus
 * Must reside within a reasonable commute to Reston, VA or be motivated to relocate to the area prior to joining; neither remote work nor delayed relocation are options
 * Certifications preferred: ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (ITSM, ITAM, or similar), ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD), ITIL v3/v4 certification, Certified Technical Architect (CTA)
 * Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
 * Must be a US Citizen/Green Card holder; company unable to offer sponsorship at this time

## Description

A publicly traded, globally recognized company in internet infrastructure and cybersecurity is seeking a ServiceNow Platform Lead Developer to drive platform strategy, implementation, and optimization. This is a flexible hybrid role (2x/week in office) based in Reston, VA, requiring candidates to reside within a reasonable commute or be motivated to relocate to the area prior to joining.
What you'll do

 * Lead the overall design of the ServiceNow platform, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical best practices
 * Collaborate with business leaders, stakeholders, and technical teams to develop and implement innovative solutions on the ServiceNow platform
 * Define platform roadmaps ensuring scalability, performance, stability, and audit compliance
 * Lead the design of workflows, integrations, and modules to extend platform capabilities
 * Drive end-to-end implementation of ServiceNow solutions across Core foundation, ITSM, ITAM, SecOps, GRC, TPRM, and other modules
 * Manage platform upgrades and ensure applications meet enterprise security and compliance standards
 * Provide technical guidance for configuration, customization, and development on ServiceNow
 * Manage documentation of solutions, knowledge base materials, and training for process owners and stakeholders
 * Provide process governance and technical best practices
 * Mentor and guide a team of ServiceNow engineers
 * Work with cross-functional teams (IT, Security, Engineering, Finance, HR) to drive adoption and platform success
 * Meet deadlines and targets individually and as a leader of multiple teams
 * Engage with executive leadership to align solutions with business objectives
 * Coordinate with ServiceNow team management on project status, challenges, and milestones
 * Establish technical governance to improve platform performance and operational efficiency
 * Stay current with ServiceNow trends, releases, and best practices
 * Foster a collaborative environment for engineers to experiment with technical solutions
