* Proficiency developing data pipelines and ETL workflows using Python and SQL.

 * Experience working within Agile or Scrum environments.
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 * Ability to create clear technical documentation and present technical information effectively.
 * U.S. citizenship.
 * Ability to work as a W-2 employee., * Intermediate experience gathering requirements in an Agile environment.
 * Experience supporting the Department of Defense.
 * Experience in secure, compliance-driven, government, or mission-focused environments.
 * Familiarity with AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, and related cloud services.
 * Experience with Jira, Git, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
 * Exposure to data-quality monitoring, operational support, or cloud-native application development.
 * AWS certification or relevant cloud training.

## Description

Blu Omega is seeking a Data Engineer to support federal data modernization efforts. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining cloud-based data pipelines, ETL workflows, and database solutions within a mission-focused environment., * Develop, test, and maintain Python- and SQL-based data pipelines and ETL workflows.

 * Support data integration and processing using AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, and related services.
 * Develop and optimize database schemas, queries, and data models.
 * Support database normalization, query optimization, and data integrity controls.
 * Translate business and technical requirements into well-documented technical solutions.
 * Investigate and resolve data quality, integration, and performance issues.
 * Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution documentation, interface specifications, data-flow diagrams, and operational procedures.
 * Participate in Agile ceremonies, manage Jira tasks, and collaborate with team members through code reviews and testing.
 * Apply established development, security, testing, and documentation standards.
 * Support delivery as an individual contributor without direct team management or technical leadership responsibilities.
