Application Architect / Functional Analyst
==========================================

Role Overview

 - ------------

We are looking for an experienced Application Architect / Functional Analyst to support the modernization of a complex IT environment combining legacy systems with modern Cloud and hybrid architectures. You will help improve architecture, reduce technical debt, and ensure secure, scalable and maintainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

 - -------------------

 * Perform functional and technical analysis for business projects.
 * Design and review application, data and integration architectures.
 * Advise development teams on technologies, architectural patterns, performance and scalability.
 * Lead design reviews and validate Proofs of Concept.
 * Ensure compliance with architecture, security and development standards.
 * Bridge communication between business, development, security and infrastructure teams.
 * Analyse and resolve complex business and technical problems.
 * Ensure consistency between legacy and modern systems.
 * Apply **Security by Design** principles and translate **NIS2** requirements into technical measures.
 * Document architectural decisions and support knowledge sharing within teams.

Requirements

 - -----------

 * Strong experience in **functional analysis and application architecture**.
 * Expert knowledge of **modern Java, Spring, microservices, API-driven and event-driven architectures**.
 * Good knowledge of **data modelling, data integration and data security**.
 * Strong experience with **relational databases, particularly MySQL**.
 * Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
 * Strong knowledge of **Atlassian/Jira**.
 * Experience working within a **federal public-sector environment** is an advantage.
 * Knowledge of security, compliance and NIS2 requirements.
 * **Languages:** Dutch, French and English.
