As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll help evolve a product where reliability, scalability, and a great user experience matter., You'll join Team Hire, a collaborative group of Backend and Frontend Engineers, working closely with Design, QA, and DevOps to solve complex problems at scale. We're looking for an engineer who combines strong technical skills with a product mindset: someone who asks "why?" before building, thinks about the impact on users, and helps the team find pragmatic solutions to technical challenges. Your primary focus will be backend development in Elixir, working on both new capabilities and the modernization of our existing codebase. Whether you're already experienced with Elixir or coming from another backend technology such as Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, or PHP, you'll have the support of experienced teammates as you deepen your expertise. Your First Year at Tellent First 3 months: You'll get to know the team, our product, and our architecture while contributing to your first meaningful improvements. You'll become familiar with our engineering practices and ways of working, supported by experienced teammates as you get up to speed with our Elixir stack. Within 6 months: You'll take ownership of features and contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and improvements to the scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the platform. You'll work closely with your teammates to solve customer problems and deliver valuable product improvements. After 1 year: You'll be a trusted technical partner within the team, taking ownership of significant parts of the product and contributing to technical decisions and architectural discussions. You'll also help share knowledge across the team through collaboration, pair programming, and mentoring.
