## About the Role

* Preferably a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Physics, or a closely related field, focused on computational modeling and simulation
 * A solid foundation in physics-based and mechanistic modeling of solid mechanics or dynamics
 * Experience translating simulation results into clear, actionable insights for engineering and R&D stakeholders
 * An innovative and analytical mindset, with curiosity for new modeling approaches and applications
 * A proactive, flexible attitude and the ability to take ownership of technical challenges
 * Experience with commercial and/or open-source simulation tools is preferred, such as Marc-Mentat, ANSYS, Abaqus, OpenFOAM or Comsol
 * Fluent in English, both in daily and technical conversation

## Description

As a Computational Modeling Engineer you join the Innovation and Design community of our client at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. With your background in (bio)physics, mechanics or computational modeling you contribute to innovative medical device solutions across the health continuum. Your work provides deep physical insight and predictive capability, so design decisions are made on evidence and R&D moves faster through advanced simulation and virtual prototyping.

Computational (bio)physics plays a key role in de-risking innovation, reducing development time and strengthening propositions. In this role you apply state-of-the-art modeling techniques to real-world engineering challenges in healthcare.

You will join the Computational Modeling team: specialists in multiphysics, biophysics, solid mechanics and fluid dynamics. The team is based in Eindhoven and supports the businesses globally, from image-guided therapy and precision diagnostics to patient monitoring and personal care.

This is what you do:

 * You contribute to research and development projects through advanced computational modeling and simulation
 * You develop, apply and validate physics-based models that support design, optimization and decision-making
 * You co-develop and strengthen the computational (bio)physics competence within the team
 * You keep up with the latest developments in modeling methodologies, numerical techniques and simulation tools
 * You explore and support new propositions across the businesses of image-guided therapy, precision diagnostics, patient monitoring and personal care, translating application needs into modeling strategies
