You can solve complex problems and you can independently clarify vaguely defined tasks with stakeholders. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative spirit * Conviction for doing the right things the right way with a history of championing them as such * Curiosity to understand existing systems and boldness to pioneer next gen ones * Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis, * Experience with MySQL or other relational databases, focusing on performance and scalability. * Experience with NOSQL or DynamoDB databases. * Experience with Snowflake or Databricks. * Familiarity with container orchestration platforms like ECS. * Experience improving large-scale event processing systems * Hands-on experience with Kinesis, Kafka, or similar. * Experience with stream processing frameworks such as Flink, Spark, or other. * Experience with infrastructure as code (IAC). ## Description As a Senior Software Engineer II at Smartsheet, you will create the next generation of our platform while tackling meaningful distributed systems challenges alongside a talented engineering team. You will collaborate closely with product managers and fellow engineers through code reviews and architectural discussions, and you will have the opportunity to mentor other engineers. This role is a great fit for someone with a strong background of hands-on development as well as solid technical leadership experience. About the Billing & Subscriptions Team The Billing & Subscriptions team is at the heart of Smartsheet's growth engine. We are responsible for the critical systems that power Licensing and Monetization. Our mission is to build a seamless purchasing experience that supports millions of users and enables the business to rapidly evolve its product and AI offerings at scale.
