## About the Role

A senior distributed-systems and SaaS architect who has gone deep on applied AI over the last few years - someone who treats agents and LLM features as production services with contracts, evaluations, and failure modes, not as experiments.
You are equally comfortable designing multi-tenant backend microservices and reasoning about retrieval pipelines, agent safety, and inference cost.
You influence without needing to own everything, you still write code, and you design for auditability from day one.
You're also comfortable being the person the CTO brings into supplier and partner conversations, translating deep technical context for non-technical stakeholders on both sides.
This person should be able to own the end-to-end architecture of our application and AI layers and raise the technical bar for the whole engineering organization - not one team within it.
Partner with platform, research, and scientific stakeholders to ship fast without compromising compliance.

## Description
