Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Senior Mission Systems Engineer - **Company:** Applied Research Solutions - **Location:** Bedford, VA, United States - **Experience:** Expert - **Salary:** $160,000.0 - $173,000.0 - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Systems Engineering, Software Documentation, SolidWorks (CAD), Network Interface Controllers, Microsoft Office, Rhapsody, Microsoft SharePoint, Software Requirements Analysis, Systems Modeling Language, Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, Computer Networking Systems - **Published:** September 16, 2026 - **Apply:** https://recruiting.ultipro.com/APP1013ARSS/JobBoard/d7bd66ed-d867-48a4-879e-5b0f95b51ad5/OpportunityDetail?opportunityId=398caf98-ba79-46d1-ac19-9e529329c9ad ## About the Role * Must be a US citizen * Must have an Active Top Secret Clearance and be SCI eligible * Bachelor's Degree in a related professional engineering discipline * 10+ years of systems engineering experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD setting Preferred Technical Skills: * Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) * Systems Architecture Development * System Modeling (SysML, Cameo, Rhapsody) * Interface Control Documentation (ICDs) * Requirements Development & Management * Communications & Networking Systems * Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS) * Radar & Surveillance Systems Integration ## Description * Provide senior-level systems engineering support for complex, mission-critical NC3 programs throughout the systems engineering and acquisition lifecycle. * Develop, analyze, and maintain system requirements, specifications, architectures, and technical documentation. * Lead systems engineering activities supporting system design, development, integration, verification, validation, and testing. * Evaluate system requirements and technical solutions to ensure alignment with program objectives, operational needs, and applicable standards. * Perform technical analysis and assessments to identify system risks, performance gaps, dependencies, and potential areas for improvement. * Support the development and evaluation of system architectures, interfaces, and technical baselines. * Lead or participate in technical reviews, working groups, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and program-level technical meetings. * Coordinate with government stakeholders, program management, engineering teams, contractors, and other technical organizations to resolve complex systems engineering issues. * Support the development of engineering plans, technical reports, briefings, and other program documentation. * Review contractor deliverables and provide technical assessments and recommendations to government and program leadership. * Support system integration activities and help ensure interfaces and requirements are properly defined, documented, and verified. * Apply systems engineering processes and methodologies to identify and manage technical risks throughout the program lifecycle. * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineering personnel as needed. * Support program planning, acquisition activities, and technical decision-making through analysis, recommendations, and engineering expertise. * Stay current with applicable DoD systems engineering practices, acquisition policies, and program-specific technical requirements. * Will perform other duties as assigned., * Statement of Work (SOW) Development * Source Selection & Vendor Evaluation * Microsoft Office 365 & SharePoint * SolidWorks The expected annual salary range: $160k - $173k. Salary is dependent upon the role and associated responsibilities, candidate's experience, and qualifications to include education/training, and key skills. All positions at Applied Research Solutions are subject to background investigations.
