This position is responsible for database administration, data quality management, reporting, mapping support, and analysis activities that help ensure the reliable distribution of weather and emergency communications throughout the United States and internationally. The ideal candidate combines strong database management skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to support mission-critical operational systems., * Excellent written and verbal English communication at levels from novice to expert. * 4-year degree in Engineering (preferred) * 5-7 years of experience in General Engineering * Ability to function well as part of a team * Data-Driven Mindset - Uses data as the foundation for insights, strategies, and actions. Experienced with Microsoft Excel: * Pivot tables * Lookup tables * Selection (dropdown) lists * Ability to manipulate and export data Experienced with Microsoft Access * Develop and maintain relational tables * Lookup tables * Develop complex queries from multiple tables * Normalize data to improve efficiency * Scripting to create queries to update data and generate reports Preferred Qualifications: * Scripting (Python, Perl) * Functional knowledge of HTML, Javascript * Experience with GIS Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the incumbent will be exposed to normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on a computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email, and face to face. This position requires the incumbent to have the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
