This role provides strategic field leadership across multiple projects, buildings, or geographic markets, with total construction value that may reach or exceed several billion dollars., While a General Superintendent may lead field execution across several buildings, phases, or projects, the Senior General Superintendent is responsible for the broader operational system that enables those projects to succeed. The Senior General Superintendent serves as a senior field executive and trusted operational partner to regional leadership, project executives, operations executives, clients, and trade partners. This individual is expected to drive consistency, accountability, and high performance across all assigned work while developing the next generation of field leaders. Responsibilities Lead field operations across multiple complex construction projects, campuses, or regional programs. * Provide strategic direction, coaching, and accountability to General Superintendents, Senior Superintendents, and field leadership teams. * Establish consistent standards for safety, quality, planning, logistics, scheduling, workforce coordination, and field execution. * Serve as the senior field resource for complex construction planning, operational sequencing, logistics strategy, issue resolution, and schedule recovery. * Evaluate field leadership coverage and performance, identify capability gaps, and support staffing, recruiting, promotions, training, and succession planning. * Build a high-performance culture grounded in ownership, collaboration, planning discipline, professional development, and accountability. * Champion a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, client standards, and project-specific safety plans. * Review safety trends, incidents, near misses, leading indicators, corrective actions, and high-risk activities with safety leadership. * Provide senior oversight of master schedules, short-interval planning, pull planning, constraint management, sequencing, and field execution milestones. * Identify schedule and production risks early and lead field-driven mitigation and recovery strategies. * Coordinate project management, field leadership, trade partners, design teams, commissioning teams, and client stakeholders around execution priorities. * Lead logistics strategies for dense, occupied, high-security, and multi-project construction environments, including access, laydown, cranes, vertical transportation, deliveries, material flow, workforce movement, temporary facilities, parking, and emergency access. * Coordinate campus-wide and regional logistics to minimize conflicts, improve productivity, and support safety, quality, schedule, and client operations. * Establish expectations for quality planning, inspections, mockups, first-in-place reviews, deficiency management, commissioning, punch list completion, turnover, and client acceptance. * Drive continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned, implementing best practices, and preventing recurring deficiencies. * Build strong relationships with trade partners, labor leaders, vendors, and field resources. * Evaluate trade partner performance and support labor forecasting, workforce planning, procurement, buyout, sequencing, and resource allocation. * Improve labor productivity, reduce rework and delays, and identify field-related risks affecting cost, schedule, margin, or client satisfaction. * Provide field input into forecasting, manpower planning, general conditions, logistics costs, and schedule recovery efforts. * Represent the organization in client meetings, executive reviews, business development pursuits, operational planning sessions, and critical issue resolution. * Build client confidence through proactive communication, reliable execution, and strong field leadership. * Provide executive visibility into field performance, risks, opportunities, staffing needs, and operational priorities. * Develop current and future field leaders through coaching, mentoring, feedback, career planning, onboarding, and leadership development. * Build a strong bench of field talent capable of supporting organizational growth and increasingly complex work. ## Related Videos -
