## About the Role

* 4+ years' commercial experience in backend software development using a strongly typed programming language.
 * Experience integrating business-critical systems with ERP, warehouse management or finance platforms.
 * Strong SQL skills, including database design and performance optimisation.
 * Good understanding of software architecture principles, including SOLID, Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design.
 * Experience with modern development practices including CI/CD, automated testing and Git.
 * Hands-on experience with Docker and containerised applications.
 * Experience working with message queues and event-driven architectures.
 * Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirables

 * Experience working with AWS or another cloud platform.
 * Knowledge of Kubernetes or container orchestration.
 * Exposure to GraphQL.
 * Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
 * Understanding of secure software development and data protection best practices.
 * Previous experience working within high-transaction, high-availability or fast-paced environments.

## Description

This is a great opportunity to work on business-critical systems where performance, scalability and reliability are essential. You'll be responsible for developing backend services that connect customer-facing applications with warehouse, ERP, finance and wider operational platforms, supporting the accurate and efficient movement of millions of data points every day., * Design, develop and maintain backend integrations between digital platforms and core business systems, including warehouse, ERP and finance solutions.

 * Build scalable middleware to support order processing, inventory synchronisation and real-time data exchange.
 * Create and maintain REST APIs and event-driven integrations across multiple systems.
 * Implement queue-based processing to support high-volume asynchronous workloads.
 * Improve system resilience through retry mechanisms, circuit breakers and fault-tolerant design.
 * Work closely with engineers, product teams and operational stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
 * Contribute to engineering standards and best practice through code reviews, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
 * Develop modern, cloud-ready services using clean, maintainable and scalable architecture.
 * Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability and efficiency.
