Design, implement, and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, Wi-Fi, voice, DNS, DHCP, and associated services. 2. Design, implement, and maintain the organization's core computing infrastructure, including virtualization platforms, servers, cloud environments, storage, and backups. 3. Administer Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, Entra ID, Group Policy, and identity/access management systems (Cisco ISE). 4. Facilitate critical security patching processes for servers, network infrastructure, and security systems. 5. Administer district-hosted telephony and converged VoIP communication systems (Cisco), security cameras, and access control systems. 6. Provide technical oversight of network closet power and environmental support systems, distributed communication systems, and various network-connected devices. 7. Review technical specifications and drawings and advise the construction department on technical aspects of facility construction and renovation projects. 8. Develop and implement standards and comprehensive lifecycle replacement programs for network and data center compute systems. 9. Serve as liaison to software and hardware vendors to maintain system operation and appropriate product support. Safeguards and Resiliency 1. Develop and implement backup procedures to ensure network and workstation backups are performed on a regular basis and district data is restored as needed. 2. Manage, operate, and maintain various network security platforms such as EDR / NDR, IDS / IPS, and firewalls. 3. Assist with the development, testing, and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity procedures for the technology infrastructure. Technical Support 1. Communicate directly with end-users and Technology Department staff members to detect and resolve network, device, and software problems. 2. Provide advanced technical support and escalation support for Department of Technology help desk staff. Other 1. Maintain confidentiality. 2. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. 3. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise network and system specialist(s) and assist with operational coordination of other technology department staff. MENTAL DEMANDS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals; server systems, networking equipment; hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations.
