## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
 * 5+ years of professional software development experience
 * 3+ years of experience leading Agile software development teams
 * Experience developing and supporting enterprise web applications
 * Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, software engineering best practices, and modern development methodologies
 * Experience with Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile delivery practices
 * Experience working with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server
 * Understanding of cloud-based application development and deployment
 * Experience with source control systems and modern software delivery processes
 * Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, * 10+ years of professional software development experience
 * Experience developing data-driven web applications utilizing Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
 * Knowledge of web-based architecture including web servers, load balancing, caching, databases, and replication
 * Experience supporting cloud-hosted business applications
 * Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies
 * Experience with Agile project management tools such as Jira
 * Familiarity with DevOps engineering practices and deployment automation
 * Knowledge of the public accounting or professional services industry
 * Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing engineering teams while balancing business priorities with technical excellence

## Description

The Software Engineering Manager leads one or more software development teams responsible for delivering and supporting multiple software products across the Firm Technology Services (FTS) organization. This role provides people leadership, delivery oversight, and technical governance while enabling teams to operate effectively within Agile, DevOps, and Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices. Working closely with Product Line Managers, Project Managers, Enterprise Architects, and Engineering leaders, this individual helps ensure high-quality software is delivered reliably, securely, and at a sustainable pace.

What You Will Do:

 * Lead, mentor, and develop software engineers and technical leads through coaching, performance management, and career development planning
 * Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence
 * Provide oversight for software delivery across one or more product teams while promoting Agile best practices
 * Participate in project planning, estimation, risk identification, and delivery planning activities
 * Monitor team performance and delivery metrics through Jira and other Agile reporting tools
 * Ensure teams deliver software predictably, efficiently, and with high quality
 * Promote sustainable team velocity and timely completion of development initiatives
 * Ensure adherence to SSDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, testing, code review, and security standards
 * Oversee remediation of technical, operational, and security risks impacting software products
 * Participate in architecture and technical design discussions to support scalable, maintainable, reliable, and secure solutions
 * Drive identification and prioritization of technical debt reduction initiatives
 * Champion operational excellence through monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices
 * Support production issue management, incident response, and continuous improvement of system reliability
 * Partner with Product Managers, Technical Product Owners, Lead Developers, and Project Managers to align priorities and delivery expectations
 * Communicate critical risks, dependencies, and resource needs to technology leadership
