The Department of Network Communications is responsible for the campus wide enterprise communications systems including the wired and wireless networks, communications servers and the voice network, the campus copper and fiber infrastructure and cable television services. Network Communications also assists in developing, designing and engineering long-range infrastructure plans for the University to support the campus community in its goals and objectives. This position will assist in the setup and installation of network hardware and software such as switches, routers, and access points and will assist in upgrading existing network systems. This position will assist in the planning and maintenance of campus network cabling infrastructure and will have a direct hand in the installation of new network gear in construction projects. This position will also assist in resolving routine network problems and maintaining the documentation and inventory of the campus networks. Other duties include: * Responsibility for ensuring current configuration documentation (e.g., baseline, backup, etc.) exists for all critical systems. * Assisting the Network team in the patching and vulnerability remediation of network systems in a timely manner and according to documented standards and best practices., This position is being recruited at the Advanced level.
