This group is responsible for capturing data from numerous disparate sources of all types, modeling it and transforming it into simple information models, and working with all the various business partners within the organization to deliver actionable insights. This role will develop technical solutions and strategies for business intelligence needs; Help to build and support Valmont's self-service analytics platform; Understand and work with business partners to fulfill their data and information needs; Gather requirements from assigned business teams, and work with other Engineers to build out the data models; Have a deep understanding of BI tools and determine how they can be implemented to automate processes for end users within the business. It is essential to embody Valmont's core values of Passion, Integrity, Continuous Improvement, and Delivering Results while cultivating a workplace where employees feel valued, trusted, understood, and respected., * This role will report to the IT Manager Analytics and have no direct or indirect reports. * Build and support Self-Service solutions for BI Analysts, Stakeholders, and other Business Partners. * In conjunction with Data Engineers, BI Analysts, Data Scientists, Data owners and Department managers, develop and model Information Marts and semantic layers for end users. * Enable the deployment of Business Intelligence, Visualization, and Data Science projects as part of the Valmont Data & Analytics Center of Excellence. * Contribute to end-to-end data pipelines using DataBricks, Azure services, and Azure Data Factory (ADF) to efficiently process large volumes of structured and unstructured data. * Help define routines and standards for end users to facilitate best-practice use of analytical and visualization tools. * Identify research questions, problem solve using analytical tools, and communicate the results to various stakeholders. * Ensure enterprise data warehouse solutions created under his/her responsibility adhere to departmental standards, appropriate controls and audit trails exist, and are thoroughly tested prior to installation in production environment. * Provide on-going enterprise data lakehouse technical support and participate in training. * Continuously monitor industry trends, standards and technologies.
