## About the Role

* At least 5 years of professional experience in Java or a similar object-oriented language
 * Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field
 * Strong knowledge of object-oriented concepts and n-tier applications
 * Knowledge of relational database concepts (Oracle a plus)
 * Hands-on experience with server-side programming (Java/JEE or C++), message-oriented systems, RESTful web services, and microservices
 * Experience configuring and deploying on application servers, ideally JBoss

## Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain back-end financial systems supporting clearing, funds, and brokerage operations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter who is passionate about clean, well-tested code and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. This is a hybrid position based in Fairfield County, CT.
Senior Software Engineer's Responsibilities and Duties:

 * Design and build software applications and back-end services with a focus on functionality, reliability, and scalability
 * Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using Java
 * Test thoroughly to identify and resolve bugs and quality issues
 * Collaborate with developers, designers, product managers, and stakeholders on project requirements
 * Review peer code and provide constructive feedback
 * Update and enhance existing applications to improve efficiency and fix vulnerabilities
