## About the Role

What We're Looking For Essential: Core Tech Stack: Strong, proven expertise in designing and building backend services with C#/.NET. Distributed Systems: Experience building loosely coupled architectures using event-based or message queue patterns. Data & Cloud: Strong SQL skills (database design and query optimization) and experience operating services on a major cloud platform (we run exclusively on Azure, but equivalent AWS or GCP experience transfers smoothly). Testing & Quality: A firm discipline in unit and integration testing as an integral part of your workflow. Pragmatic AI Usage:
Practical, day-to-day experience using AI coding assistants as part of your development process- with the critical mindset to review, adapt, or reject generated code. DevOps Mindset: Comfortable working in agile environments with Git and CI/CD pipelines. Communication & Leadership: Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, along with a track record of mentoring team members. Desirable (Bonus points if you have): Experience with modern .NET versions (we are moving to .NET 10) and native Azure services. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (we use Bicep; Terraform experience is equally welcome). Familiarity with both serverless and containerised infrastructure. Full-stack capabilities or frontend experience with component frameworks like Angular. Experience with high-throughput transactional messaging (SMS, IP messaging). Experience leveraging AI tools beyond code generation (e.g., test generation, refactoring, documentation).
