Office location can either be a satellite site in Wiltshire or Hampshire, with occasional travel to London., The UK Sovereign Operations (SovOps) team in Google Public Sector delivers, operates and secures private cloud services. We aim to provide the flexibility, reliability, and scalability of public cloud for customers with exceptionally high security requirements that can only be met in a private cloud environment. We deliver and operate these private cloud deployments for the most critical customers, helping scale, secure and maintain the deployment whilst working closely with Google Cloud product teams to continually improve our technology. As the Data Centre Operations Lead, you'll be involved in tactical and strategic operations of several UK colocation facilities, as well as managing several operations centres used for operating air-gapped clouds. You'll own and manage relationships with the colocation provider, to plan, coordinate and communicate all operational and project work. You will lead the fit out projects for new colocation facilities to meet capacity demands, and manage multiple projects with high degree of complexity and scope. You will also be commissioning new compute, networking and storage equipment in the halls to bring online new capacity. You will work closely with teammates in SovOps to plan for new capacity and coordinate with hardware suppliers to handle logistics for expansion.
