## About the Role

* A university degree in a technological or scientific discipline, or equivalent professional experience, preferably within the financial services industry
 * Extensive, hands-on experience with Production Application Support and ITIL Practices with an SRE knowledge and mindset
 * Proven ability to build effective partnerships, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the capability to operate successfully within a complex, global organisation
 * Deep understanding of application Support and/or Development and complex IT infrastructure (UNIX, Database, Middleware, Cloud, Kubernetes, MQ etc.)
 * Experience in application log and performance monitoring tools such as Geneos, Splunk, Grafana and New Relic - leveraging OpenTelemetry (OTEL) to establish End-To-End Monitoring across our business flows
 * Good understanding of most recent technologies, be it cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure), programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python), databases (Postgres, BigQuery, MongoDB), Messaging (MQ, Kafka) or other solutions
 * Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs

## Description

* Defining and implementing Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and embed Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve service reliability and operational excellence
 * Establishing and enhancing comprehensive monitoring, observability, logging, and alerting systems to provide deep visibility into system health and performance
 * Conducting in-depth technical analysis of production platforms to identify, prioritize, and remediate performance, stability, and resilience issues
 * Exploring and partnering with teams to prototype, and implement AI/ML solutions to enhance production support efficiency, including predictive incident detection, intelligent alerting, automated root cause analysis, and proactive anomaly detection
 * Leading root cause analysis (RCA) activities and implement preventative measures
 * Building strong partnerships with global stakeholders across development, infrastructure, and production functions to proactively identify risks, define remediation strategies, and effectively manage change-related conflicts
