Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met., * Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college, a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * Programming Languages: Hands-on programming experience in one or more core languages, such as C/C++, Python, Java, LabVIEW, or TestStand. * Team Operations: Proven experience working within project teams and collaborative software development efforts. * Experience: Familiarity with the Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required., * Defense & Aerospace Domains: A background or familiarity with aerospace systems, defense technologies, or working directly alongside government/military clients. * Agile & Collaboration Tools: Familiarity navigating Agile frameworks and platform management environments like JIRA, Git, and Confluence. * Troubleshooting & Field Verification: Advanced on-site diagnostics, systems testing architecture, and hardware/software integration testing. * Modern Development Methodologies: Knowledge of DevOps principles, automated test script design, or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts. * Lifecycle Experience: Working knowledge of the end-to-end product lifecycle, spanning software development, deployment, and eventual retirement. * Experience: Familiar with using issue tracking tools and managing system troubleshooting workflows (JIRA, EPDM, ClearQuest, etc.) * AI: Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice. ## Description The Role: The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth, and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence. The Software Engineer II is an individual contributor on the LE - Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) team supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program. You'll work alongside colleagues and our customers to understand complex needs and requirements, turning them into well-engineered technical solutions.
