Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. * Knowledge or complementary experience with electronic health record systems and HIPAA regulations. * Ability to work easily in a Windows computer environment with complimentary knowledge of Excel, Outlook and Word. * Requires the ability to adapt to changing duties and priorities in a high production environment. * Ability to research and problem solve. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Customer service phone and in person skills required. * Must have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members. * Ability to observe all clinic safety precautions. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: * RHIT Certification or complimentary HIM experience preferred., * Physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job, taking distance and speed into account. * Physical agility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in place. * Dexterity of hands and fingers. * Endurance (e.g., continuous data entry, prolonged, sitting, standing/bending, walking). * Ability to lift 20lbs. ## Description * Numbers, sorts, preps, scans and indexes incoming paperwork, covers courier and records release. * Numbers paperwork with MRN. * Sorts paperwork into the 90+ document types for electronic charting. Scans prepped paperwork into scan application. * Indexes scanned paperwork into each individual patient electronic chart. * Quality checks at all levels for accuracy and quality of document. * Processes and completes requests for release of information, adhering to all compliance and regulatory requirements. * Acts as internal courier for all interoffice and USPS mail. * Processes imaging requests and imaging uploads. Answers and assists needs of patients, providers, outside entities and inter-departmental phone calls, in-basket messages and health maintenance requests. * Processes records release inquiries from patients, outside provider's offices and internal call transfers. * Courier station answers internal calls for supplies or inquiries of interoffice and USPS mail.
