Required expertise/knowledge includes: * Experience designing user experiences that connect physical controls (buttons, dials, haptics) with digital systems (screens, LEDs, apps), ensuring seamless interaction in consumer appliances. * Experience applying ISO and Human Factors & Ergonomics standards to product interfaces, grounding design decisions in human factors research and usability testing for consumer. * Experience defining and documenting interaction behaviors involving motion, light, and haptic feedback for enhancing overall user experience. * Experience developing interactive prototypes that demonstrate user interactions using Figma and hardware prototyping tools including Arduino. * Experience leading alignment between Design, Engineering, and Marketing, ensuring UX deliverables inform both business and technical decision-making. * Experience designing seamless connected product ecosystems across appliances, companion apps, and accessories, ensuring consistent brand expression and interaction models. * Experience adapting design systems and user experiences across languages, markets, and cultural contexts to support successful launches. * Experience conducting ethnographic research, usability testing, and data synthesis to inform product strategies, ensuring both physical and digital experiences address user needs., strategic partners such as Industrial Designers, Product Developers, Engineers, and Marketers. Develop and conduct in-house research to gather insights. Collaborate with the Strategy Team to create and maintain now-near-far term roadmaps for user experience design and technology application. Stay abreast of the latest trends for product innovation by analyzing the competitive landscape and adjacent industries. REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Cognitive Science/Psychology, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Engineering Design Innovation, or related field plus 6 months of experience in the offered position or closely related occupation. Conduct research, design data-driven experiences, and advocate for user-centered design throughout various cross-functional projects within the KitchenAid portfolio. Plan and conduct usability and research activities to ensure that user-centered design principles and methods positively impact Whirlpool's diverse range of consumer products. Understand and advocate consumers' needs, behaviors, and abilities throughout product development. Collaborate with cross-functional global stakeholders to understand requirements and co-create thoughtful solutions. Work closely with industrial designers, visual designers, marketing and engineering. Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and/or high-fidelity prototypes. Document the specifications utilized by engineers to execute design.
