## About the Role

We're looking for an engineer who brings a strong combination of technical expertise, laboratory experience, and collaborative problem-solving skills., * A Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent non-U.S. qualifications.

 * Experience with FPGA/SoC technologies, digital hardware, or embedded computing architectures in a hardware laboratory environment.
 * Experience developing and executing requirements-based verification or validation tests.
 * Hands-on experience troubleshooting digital hardware, FPGA-based systems, or embedded electronics.
 * Ability to interpret FPGA, hardware, interface, and system requirements and translate them into effective test procedures.
 * Experience documenting test plans, procedures, test results, discrepancies, and technical conclusions.
 * Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
 * Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.

Advanced technical education combined with substantial relevant engineering experience is expected for this position. Typical experience may include a bachelor's degree plus approximately nine or more years of related experience, a master's degree plus approximately seven years, a PhD plus approximately four years, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

You'll stand out if you bring experience in one or more of the following areas:

 * 10+ years of related professional experience for Level 4 consideration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 * Avionics, aircraft systems, aerospace, or another safety-critical engineering environment.
 * Python scripting for test automation, data acquisition, processing, or analysis.
 * LabVIEW and/or MATLAB.
 * C or C# programming.
 * Analog signals, signal integrity, or mixed-signal testing.
 * MIL-STD-1553 interfaces.
 * ARINC 429 interfaces.
 * LVDT, DDV, and/or SOV devices or interfaces.
 * Ethernet systems, including 10/100 Mbps and 1 Gbps implementations.
 * Development of automated laboratory test environments.
 * Requirements management, test management, defect tracking, and configuration management tools.
 * Interpretation of schematics, interface control documents, timing diagrams, FPGA documentation, and hardware test specifications.
 * Verification, qualification, acceptance, or production testing.
 * A Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.

## Description

As an FPGA On-Target Test Engineer, you will play a key role in the integration, verification, and validation of sophisticated FPGA- and system-on-chip-based products in a hardware laboratory environment.

Working alongside FPGA designers, simulation verification engineers, systems engineers, hardware engineers, and program teams, you will help ensure products perform as intended and meet demanding system and customer requirements.

Your work will span the FPGA development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and test planning through hardware bring-up, hands-on test execution, troubleshooting, data analysis, and final verification evidence.

What You'll Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

 * Develop, review, and execute requirements-based verification and validation procedures for FPGA- and SoC-based hardware.
 * Conduct on-target testing using engineering and production-representative hardware.
 * Analyze hardware, system, and interface requirements and translate them into test objectives, cases, procedures, and expected results.
 * Support FPGA and SoC integration, hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
 * Configure laboratory test setups, instrumentation, cabling, interfaces, loads, and other support equipment.
 * Work hands-on with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, and protocol/interface analyzers.
 * Verify digital interfaces and overall system functionality while identifying, documenting, and investigating anomalies.
 * Develop scripts and tools to automate test execution, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
 * Test communications and control interfaces that may include Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, and other avionics or embedded-system interfaces.
 * Perform analog and mixed-signal input/output testing when applicable.
 * Document test plans, procedures, results, discrepancies, findings, and verification evidence.
 * Collaborate across engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues and keep testing activities on track.
 * Participate in test readiness reviews, peer reviews, design reviews, and technical interchange meetings.
 * Conduct regression testing and repeatability assessments following FPGA design updates and hardware changes.
 * Maintain configuration control of test scripts, procedures, laboratory setups, and test data.
 * Identify and track technical performance measures to assess progress and requirements compliance.
 * Coordinate engineering support throughout the product lifecycle and contribute to future product concepts and technical planning.
 * At the Level 4 scope, provide technical leadership, establish test strategies, review test artifacts, and mentor less-experienced engineers.
