## About the Role

data/analytics strategy, working closely with Pricing, Risk, Customer Data Science, Enterprise Data, and Technology. Develops MI and analytical outputs that translate into clear, actionable recommendations for portfolio and trading decisions. Embeds governance and regulatory compliance across analytics and data, including data quality, model risk, and auditability. Builds analytical capability across the underwriting community. Leads, manages, and develops direct and indirect reports. Experience Proven experience leading underwriting analytics and data standards/governance within insurance or financial services. Strong understanding of underwriting principles, trading decisions, and portfolio management (personal and/or commercial lines). Experience developing, validating, and deploying analytical models or data-driven tools into production, with governance and performance monitoring. Strong experience defining data standards, definitions, quality controls and ownership models for
underwriting data. Able to constructively challenge senior pricing, actuarial or modelling stakeholders, balancing technical evidence with commercial judgement. Strong stakeholder management skills, translating complex data/model outputs into clear business recommendations. Experience working cross-functionally with Pricing, Risk, Actuarial, Enterprise Data, IT and Change. Good understanding of enterprise data platforms and standards. Strong organisational skills, managing multiple priorities within risk and regulatory frameworks. Experience establishing MI, insight reporting or portfolio analytics for trading and strategic decisions. Good knowledge of insurance regulatory, model risk and data governance requirements.

Job DescriptionAbout the CompanyOur client, a major UK insurer, is focused on strengthening underwriting decision-making through robust analytics, credible challenge, and clear data ownership. About the RoleThis role leads the development and deployment of underwriting analytics capabilities, while defining and embedding the data standards, controls, and governance needed to support consistent, trusted underwriting data. Responsibilities Sets the strategic direction and roadmap for underwriting analytics and data standards. Defines and embeds frameworks for analytics, model governance, and data standards, aligned to enterprise governance and regulatory expectations. Owns underwriting data standards and governance, common data definitions, quality rules, and control frameworks, acting as data owner. Provides independent analytical challenge to pricing and modelling teams, balancing statistical evidence with commercial underwriting judgement. Represents underwriting priorities in enterprise
