The role combines hands-on software engineering with technical leadership across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and architecture through deployment, observability, production support, and continuous improvement. * This engineer works closely with product managers, business partners, architects, security, cloud platform teams, DevOps, quality engineering, data teams, and consuming application teams to deliver reusable claims services and reliable integrations. The position is expected to champion engineering standards, mentor other engineers, and help translate complex claims-processing needs into maintainable API solutions., * Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of RESTful APIs and Spring Boot microservices for claims processing, claims detail, treatment history, coordination of benefits, batch processing, and related enterprise capabilities. * Create production-ready software using sound data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and frameworks, with strong attention to maintainability, scalability, resiliency, security, performance, and operational simplicity. * Own features and services end to end, including technical design, coding, automated testing, documentation, release readiness, deployment validation, monitoring, incident response, and production health. * Provide technical leadership for API modernization, service decomposition, integration patterns, and migration from legacy service implementations to cloud-native architectures. * Define and promote consistent API standards, including resource modeling, versioning, error handling, idempotency, authentication and authorization, backward compatibility, and lifecycle management. * Build secure integrations using API management and industry-standard security patterns such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, TLS, secrets management, and least-privilege access. * Collaborate with DevOps and cloud platform teams to build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines, container images, deployment configurations, environment controls, and automated release processes. * Implement observability through structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerts, synthetic monitoring, and actionable service-level indicators. * Design and execute unit, component, contract, integration, end-to-end, performance, resiliency, and security testing.
