## About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Database Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in database activity monitoring automation for cloud databases across AWS and Azure and a proven ability to design, implement, and operationalize secure, automated monitoring and auditing solutions at scale., * 10+ years as a SQL Server engineer or database developer with hands-on security engineering experience.

 * Proficiency in Python and shell scripting on Linux, with CI/CD practices.
 * Expertise with AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server administration and security features.
 * Strong knowledge of database security controls including native auditing, encryption in transit and at rest, entitlements, and password vaulting.
 * Experience integrating REST APIs for automation and monitoring workflows.
 * Hands-on Linux administration in production environments.
 * Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.

Preferred Skills:

 * Experience with Guardium or comparable database activity monitoring platforms.
 * Automation with Ansible for configuration management at scale.
 * Familiarity with Azure database services and cross-cloud patterns.
 * Practice in Agile/Scrum frameworks using Jira and Horizon.

## Description

* Engineer and automate database activity monitoring solutions for AWS RDS, Azure-hosted databases, and on-prem implementations.
 * Develop Python, shell, and PowerShell scripts to enable CI/CD pipelines, integrations, and configuration management.
 * Implement and maintain native audit logging, encryption in transit and at rest, entitlement reviews, and password vault integrations.
 * Integrate and support Guardium or similar database activity monitoring tools for policy enforcement and reporting.
 * Design REST API integrations for security workflows and observability.
 * Collaborate with security, database, and cloud platform teams to drive standards and remediate findings.
 * Create documentation, runbooks, and presentations for stakeholders and leadership.
 * Work within Agile/Scrum ceremonies using Jira for backlog, sprint, and delivery tracking.
