## About the Role

* Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer within large-scale digital transformation programmes.
 * Strong Central Government/public sector experience.
 * Significant hands-on experience with AWS.
 * Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, CloudFormation or similar.
 * Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or similar.
 * Experience supporting Java-based applications and microservices architectures.
 * Strong Linux administration and scripting skills using Bash, Python or similar.
 * Experience with containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
 * Knowledge of monitoring and logging technologies such as CloudWatch, Grafana, ELK and Prometheus.
 * Strong understanding of cloud security, networking and operational best practices.

## Description

Location: Predominantly remote with occasional/ad hoc travel to client sites
Clearance: Active SC Clearance required, We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a major digital transformation programme for a Central Government client.

You will work within a cloud-native AWS and Java environment, helping to build, maintain and optimise the infrastructure, deployment pipelines and cloud platforms underpinning critical public-facing digital services.

The successful candidate will have strong Central Government/public sector experience alongside a proven background in DevOps, AWS cloud engineering, automation and modern agile delivery environments., * Design, implement and maintain infrastructure across AWS cloud environments.

 * Build and support CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable and efficient software delivery.
 * Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and deployment.
 * Support Java-based applications and microservices.
 * Implement monitoring, alerting and logging solutions to maintain platform reliability and performance.
 * Support platform security, compliance and operational resilience.
 * Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment and performance issues across development and production environments.
 * Promote DevOps best practice, automation and continuous improvement.
 * Support disaster recovery, backup and business continuity activities.
 * Collaborate closely with Architects, Developers, Security and Delivery teams.
